WISH: Event turnout wonderful

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho would like to thank all of our supporters who attended the event, Steak & Fish for Make-A-Wish, on Tuesday night. We had a wonderful turnout and the event was a great success, raising more than $10,000 which will fund wishes for two local children! We are thrilled to have a local presence as the Idaho Chapter now serves the entire state of Idaho. All funds raised are used to grant wishes of Idaho children. Thank you to our amazing volunteers for their hard work, to Dockside for hosting the event and to our sponsors: Helbling Employee Benefits, Dance Theatre NW, Scott Carr with Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller, RnD Architects, Bill and Sandy Winant, Don and Sharmon Schmitt, and the Hagadone Corporation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The North Idaho Region is currently working on granting wishes to six local children. We appreciate the community support that helps us make the wishes of these courageous children come true!

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho is celebrating its 25th year of magical wishes and hopes to grant its 1,000th wish this year. The Idaho Chapter is part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America which is the largest wish granting organization in the world.

The adage "sometimes it takes a village to raise a child." Shines brightly in Athol! We would like to thank the community of Athol for all their support in helping to send our son, Tyler, to Boise. Tyler qualified as a finalist for the State National Geographic Geography Bee and competed on April 1.

Thank you to Athol Elementary and all the parents and students who helped make his trip a success. Local businesses were equally supportive. Thank you to White Pine Restaurant, Mr. Tire, Little Town Market, Victory Auto Parts, Saddle Up Grill & Steakhouse, Caruso's (Hayden) and a special thank you to Cole's Automotive and Jimmy C's for their gracious sponsorship.

Lastly, thank you to grandma, grandpa and the rest of our friends and family who supported Tyler throughout this wonderful, memorable experience!

KIM BRISTLIN AND CHRIS SEARS

The Specialized Needs Recreation of Kootenai County program, Coeur d'Alene Eagles, The Rhythm Dawgs and the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department would like to thank all the sponsors for their donations and support for the benefit dance held on April 8-9 at the Eagles Lodge.

SNR offers off school days and summer camps for children. They also provide weekly evening recreation opportunities for adults. The SNR program is a cooperative effort between the cities of Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum and Hayden.

Big thank you goes out to all our sponsors A-Mac Construction, Cannon Hill Industries, DA Davidson, Harris Dean Insurance, Dee Jameson, Magnuson McHugh, Rhythm Dawgs, Schreiber Properties, Mike Verbillis and Vista Management for making this event possible.
