Officials with the Kootenai National Forest last week alerted residents to the potential temporary closure of Pipe Creek Road later in the summer.

In a Facebook post, U.S. Forest Service personnel warned that state crews were eyeing a slump in the road just past Turner Mountain near the old moose pond. Work is tentatively planned to begin July 12.

Officials expect the project to take just a few days. Project approval remains pending, according to the social media post.

“…[We] wanted to get it out there as a heads up to the public and users of that road,” it reads.
