Make lemonade out of bypass proposal

The opponents of the Sand Creek Bypass might do well to use their energy and time deciding how to beautify the raised berm.

There are many native plants and beautiful ivies that could be planted. Virginia creeper turns a gorgeous red in the fall.

The east bank of Sand Creek is not very pretty now, and the whole waterway is a big mud hole.

With some planning, Sand Creek could be kept full all winter if a locks of some kind was put under the railroad bridge to hold back the water. The ice could be used for skating or fishing during the months that the lake level is low.

Instead of fighting a necessary lemon, why not make lemonade?
