Helen M. Strand-Bundt, 89, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

Helen was born March 21, 1916, in St. Paul, Minn., to E.H.C. and Josephine (Stoll) Strand. Helen attended grade school in rural North Dakota and graduated high school in Comertown, Mont., in 1935.

She then attended beauty schools in Billings and New York City. She then owned and operated her own beauty shop in Westby for several years.

Helen married William C. Bundt in Glendive on April 2, 1949. They then moved to Billings and lived there for 18 years before moving to Kalispell where they retired. Helen loved to read, write letters and travel, and was an avid gardener.

Helen was a born, baptized, and confirmed Lutheran. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westby, Peace Lutheran Church in Billings and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kalispell.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Guy; and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband, William, of Kalispell; sister, Olga Griffin, of Oroville, Calif.; two brothers, Earl Strand of Kalispell, and Ervin Strand of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Helen will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
