A 55-year-old Bonner, Idaho man was killed Saturday evening when his Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve on Secondary Highway 508 in Lincoln County near Troy, the Montana Highway Patrol reported.

A highway patrol dispatcher said the motorcycle apparently left the road, rolled over several times and landed in a ditch.

The man was not wearing a helmet.

The Montana Highway Patrol reported that excessive speed and alcohol were both factors in the fatal accident.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
