Ruby E. Loy, 86, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, of congestive heart failure.
She was born to Christian and Emma Bern on June 20, 1919, in Sinai, S.D. Ruby moved with her family to Kalispell in 1935, and she graduated from Flathead County High School in 1937.
She married Bill Loy of Kalispell in 1942, and the couple moved to Whitefish in 1947, where Bill worked for, and was later owner/manager of, Whitefish Furniture.
Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mom. She loved music and had a fun sense of humor.
She was active at Christ Lutheran Church, which the family attended.
She and Bill moved back to Kalispell in 1982. Bill died in 2002, just before their 60th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her children, Ginni Siblerud and husband, Lonnie, of Spokane, Julie Grenrood and husband, David, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Doug Loy, and wife, Sandy, of Whitefish; her sister, Bernice Rasmussen, of Kalispell; four granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren - all boys!
There will be a memorial service for Ruby at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Christ Lutheran Church.
Memorial contributions can be given to the church if desired.
