She was born in Molalla, Ore., on May 6, 1925, the daughter of Jim and Artie Mae (Murphy) Snyder.

After LaVona's years of education she met and married William Voigt of Whitefish, in 1949, where they became parents of three daughters. While raising their girls, LaVona ran a day care in their home. William and she later divorced.

She remarried Aug. 4, 1980, to Don Tucker of Polson, making their home in Eureka. They moved back to Kalispell, where she went to work as a grocery clerk. LaVona retired in 1995 at the age of 70. She enjoyed her sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts. She also liked traveling with Don and visiting with their family.

LaVona was preceded in death by her parents, Mae Hamilton and husband, Vern, and her father, Jim Snyder; and an infant sister, Theressa.

She is survived by her husband, Don, of Kalispell; and three daughters, Verna Crawford and husband, Brian, of Highland, Calif., Sherryl Main and husband, Ted, and Dottie Broad, all of Kalispell; brothers, Richard Snyder of Whitefish, and Robert Snyder of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.

The family suggests that donations be made to Hospice Home Health Options, 175 Commons Loop, Ste. 100, Kalispell, MT 59901.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for LaVona's family.
