COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho — The Chiefs traveled to the Tri-State Tournament this weekend.

"It was a very, very tough tournament," said head coach Jaime Wise.

Moses Lake placed 14th as a team with a score of 65.5 after maintaining the sixth place spot for most of the weekend.

"We had eight wrestlers advance to the second day. All of them had very, very tough matches and only three advanced to the next round," said Wise.

Of the three that advanced the second day, all lost their second matches Saturday.

"The kids did pretty well," Wise said.

The Chiefs wrestle in competition again Dec. 29 and 30 at the Northwest Duals.

The competition will include eight or nine dual matches for Moses Lake.

The Chiefs will be able to take as many wrestlers as possible as there is no limit to a team's size.

Currently, 32 schools are slated to compete during the tournament.
