Ivor Goodrich passed away in Moses Lake on May 24, 2005. He was 72 years old.

Born in Vernal, Utah he moved with his family to Moses Lake in 1944.

Ivor attended Washington State University through the ROTC program and graduated in 1955. He went directly into the Air Force after college graduation. He entered flight training school and became a fighter pilot. He received his masters degree from George Washington University in 1967, and in 1968 served a tour of duty in Vietnam flying 118 combat missions. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial combat. He attended the Canadian War College, and was part of the instructor staff of the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va.

After 20 years of service, he retired as a Lt. Col and then moved into his second career: the development of Pelican Point residential community and aviation instruction at Big Bend Community College.

He is survived by his wife Pat of 49 years, his two daughters Joni Schur and husband Robert, Donna Sanders and husband George, his son Scott Goodrich and wife Becky. He is survived by his five grandchildren: Katie, Shelby, Brandon, Heather and Whitney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Peggy Goodrich, and is survived by his brother Huck Goodrich as well as a niece, nephews and cousins.

Ivor will be remembered for his service to our country, his love of aviation and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Ivor's life will be held on Friday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian church of Moses Lake, 1142 West Ivy Avenue.
