Mary Joyce Kelly, 74

Mary Joyce Kelly, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2005, at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in New Orleans to Clemont and Elsie (Chandezon) Dumesnil. Mary received her early education in Louisiana and continued her education in Port Arthur, Texas, where she graduated from high school.

She married LeRoy Joseph Viator on June 15, 1946, in Port Arthur, and the couple later divorced. Mary worked at Spooner Photo until moving to Beaumont, Texas, where she worked for Fox Photo for 25 years.

In 1969, she moved to Long Beach, Calif., to care for her mother.

Mary met and married Earl Kelly in 1971, in Long Beach, and they later divorced. In 1985, she moved to Lawton, Okla., where she returned to school and received her bachelor's degree in accounting and bookkeeping. Mary worked in this field for a short time before moving to Columbia Falls to live with her daughter and grandchildren in 2001. Mary loved to paint and work with ceramics and all kinds of crafts.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and her son-in-law, Michael B. Johnson Sr. in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Johnson, of Columbia Falls; five grandchildren, Mary Elise Hall and David Stephen Wright, both of Beaumont, Michael B. Johnson Jr., Jaquelyn Elizabeth Johnson and Samantha Gail Johnson, all of Columbia Falls; three great-grandsons, Michael Wayne Hall, Matthew Dustin Hall and Christopher Allen Wright; and one brother, Clemont Floyd Dumesnil and wife, Heldi, of Lawton, Okla.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Mary's family.
