EPHRATA — An Ephrata man has died after police believe he accidentally shot himself in a motel room Saturday night.

Bucky J. McAnulty, 23, was airlifted to Wenatchee after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. According to a Ephrata Police Department press release, McAnulty may have been playing a game of "Russian Roulette."

The Ephrata Police Department responded to the scene at the Ephrata Inn Motel on Basin Street just before 11 p.m.

Ephrata Police Chief Joe Varick said that reports indicated McAnulty was playing with a .32 caliber revolver when he accidentally shot himself.

Varick said McAnulty had just checked into the hotel that day.

According to the EPD, the incident is still under investigation.
