Editor,

On Saturday, April 30, a small group of Salish Kootenai College Upward Bound students held a very successful fundraising car wash and bake sale in the First Interstate Bank parking lot in Polson. We thank the following people for their help: Karen Dellwo and the personnel of the Polson First Interstate Bank for letting us use their parking lot, water, and electricity; Julie Janssen and the families of our students for donating baked goods; volunteer Joseph Talamantes for helping us wash all those cars; and all the people who contributed to our cause either through the car wash/bake sale or through their own generous monetary donations.

Please forgive us for not mentioning everyone by name. Thanks to all of you, this group of students will be able to attend the upcoming 2005 Northwest Indian Youth Conference in Boise.

Thanks again, on behalf of Alicia, Anastasia, Charla, Malina, and Whitney,

Joanne Morrow
