Theo Mae (Adams) Putman, 86

Theo Mae (Adams) Putman, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at her home in Kalispell.

She was born July 21, 1919, in Kalispell to Jess and Ila (LaRue) Adams. Theo received her education in Kalispell, graduating from Flathead County High School.

On Oct. 6, 1939, Theo married Robert Putman in Kalispell.

Theo was one of the first women to be hired at First Federal and work as a teller before it became Glacier Bank.

She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Kalispell and enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and the women's activities.

Theo loved her raspberries, gardening, crafts, sewing and making things for her grandchildren. She also looked forward to spending summers at the cabin on Ashley Lake. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. They were snowbirds for many years and also traveled to Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Guam and Hawaii.

Theo was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Putman; and a daughter, Nancy Putman in a car accident in 1967.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Putman, and one daughter, Sandra Aderholt, both of Kalispell; one son, Wayne Putman, and wife, Jeannie, of Juneau, Alaska; granddaughters, Jody Moors and husband, Tim, of Missoula, and Nancy Roker-Knight of San Jose, Calif.; great-grandsons, Brian Roker and wife, Jaime, and Christian Moors; great-granddaughter, Jordan Moors; two great-great-grandchildren, Zachary and Katelyn Roker; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Theo will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Jim Sandholdt of the First Baptist Church of Kalispell officiating. Burial will follow at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. There will be visitation at Johnson Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the First Baptist Church of Kalispell, 301 W. Wyoming St., Kalispell, MT 59901.
