Happy hunting: Basin readies for Easter

Easter egg hunts held April 15

GRANT COUNTY— Easter is just around the corner and that means Easter egg hunts are coming up.

In Moses Lake there will be two Easter egg hunts on Saturday, April 15.

The first one starts at 10 a.m. at Blue Heron Park at 111 Westshore Drive, and is hosted by Home Care of Washington. There will be face painting and prizes for the golden eggs found, including McDonald's and Burger King gift cards, toys from Shuck's, prizes from Polaris Sports and hats from Lumbermens. Age groups include 0 to 3, 4 to 6 and 7 and up.

The second Easter egg hunt is at McCosh Park, located at 401 West Fourth Avenue and is hosted by the Moses Lake Lions Club. This Easter egg hunt will begin at noon sharp with a shotgun start. There will be more than 545 dozen eggs donated by Wilcox Farms and colored and hard boiled by volunteers to be gathered. The age categories are 0 to 3 unassisted, 0 to 3 assisted, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. There will be an Easter bunny so don't forget to bring your camera and Easter egg basket.

In Warden there will be one Easter egg hunt on April 15, hosted by the Warden Lions Club. This Easter egg hunt will be at the football field and start at 10 a.m. Age groups are broken down into grade levels: fifth to sixth grade, third to fourth grade, first to second grade and kindergarten and younger. The Easter bunny will hop in for an appearance and there will be prizes for the prize eggs found.

In Soap Lake there will be an Easter egg hunt hosted by John's Foods on April 15. The hunt starts at 7:30 p.m. inside John's Foods and is for toddlers to second-graders.

In Mattawa there will be an Easter egg hunt hosted by the Mattawa Area Multicultural Chamber of Commerce and the Mattawa /Desert Aire Lions Club. The hunting begins at 10 a.m. at Hund Memorial Park on April 15. The event is for age categories 2 to 3, 4 to 5 and grades first to third and fourth to sixth.

An Easter egg hunt will be put on by the Kiwanis Club Saturday, April 15 in Ephrata following the Lions Club Annual Fishing Derby.

An Easter egg hunt will be held in George at the Colonial Market at 9 a.m. April 15.
