Ephrata woman stabs sister

EPHRATA — A 27-year-old Ephrata woman was found suffering from multiple stab wounds from her sister Sunday morning.

Ephrata resident Sada Jaylene Joe, 27, was arrested for assault in the first degree-domestic violence after stabbing her sister with a kitchen knife, police reported.

According to police, the stabbing was allegedly prompted after an argument at a residence on Fifth Avenue Southeast.

When officers arrived, they allegedly found the victim lying on the floor and the suspect, who had a cut on her right hand, still in the residence, police reported.

The victim was taken to Samaritan Hospital for surgery concerning a possible punctured lung according to the police.
