Mail fraud suspect caught at Moses Lake motel

MOSES LAKE — The fourth suspect in a mail fraud ring in Moses Lake was caught Sunday morning in Moses Lake.

Rosaidalia Salazar, 33, was taken into custody by a bounty hunter on South Interlake Drive after exiting a motel, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Jim Jenkins. The bounty hunter was waiting outside the motel for her to exit.

Grant County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Salazar at the jail for bail jumping and warrants concerning failure to appear in court for burglary and theft.

A report regarding mail theft and forgery is pending, he said.

Salazar is allegedly part of an alleged mail fraud ring with Sommer R. Hall, 28, Mercedes L. Garcia, 27 and Angela R. Rocha, 32.

Hall, Garcia and Rocha were arrested Dec. 11 for theft in the second degree, forgery, identity theft and for possession of methamphetamine.

After the three were arrested, police asked citizens for help through the Columbia Basin Herald in an article printed Friday to locate Salazar, leading to her Monday arrest.

There are approximately 50 victims affected by the ring and more than $10,000 in damages, Jenkins said. The stolen mail is returned to the victims after it is processed, he added.
