Wildcats no match for Othello

OTHELLO — The Lady Huskies came out sluggish but rallied at halftime and came out shooting in the third period to win the game 65-32.

Donna Franco led her team on the court, dishing out assists and earning points of her own to back up the effort. She ended the night with 10 points.

"I told the girls at the half that they were playing down," said head coach Doug Boyer. "We played a little basketball in the locker room so they could see the offense Toppenish was running."

"I told them I wanted to see 55 points on the board by the end of the third quarter. We put up 25 points."

In the fourth quarter, Othello had finished off the game but maintained their intesity through the final buzzer.

Othello's Ashley Walker, who had 10 points on the night, earned a putback to make it 61-28.

"We have been putting together three quarters of play every game," said Boyer. "But not four. I keep telling them that they need to start playing like they want it."

The Lady Huskies did not score again until Walker found Britney Livingston for a layup with 21/2 minutes remaining.

Walker scored the final two points of the night for Othello on two separate trips to the foul line.

Tabitha Gomez led the team with 13 points. Courtney Kirkwood had 12 points. Rachel Mohs had 11 points.
