Elizabeth Jeanette Harris believed God's truth— the Bible's truth. The truth being: "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all…" (Eccl. 9:5). On Feb. 8 the great enemy claimed her life.

On Feb. 17, 1938, in the town of Ballard, Elizabeth was born to Kise and Effie Willis. Both parents have preceded her in death, while her husband, David, survives her, as does a sister, Joan Owens of Bellingham.

Surviving, also, are nieces, nephews and two daughters; Lisa Roe of Lynwood, and Lindsay Luce of Minneapolis Minn., four grandchildren survive her as well: Alijah and Ava Luce; Jordan and Hope Roe.

Elizabeth's confidence in the promises of Jehovah God, and those of his son, Jesus, were unshakable. She believed unreservedly that Jehovah would answer the request made in the model prayer that Jesus taught. He said we should pray for God's Kingdom— his Father's Government— and that by means of that Government, God's will would be done on the earth as surely as it is in heaven. Such will of God includes the resurrection of both righteous and the unrighteous, into a paradise earth where death will be no more.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses for nearly fifty years, she found boundless delight in her privilege of sharing that certain hope with persons longing for a better world in which to live; a world wherein "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." (Ps. 37:29).

Now this lady of sweetness and integrity; of dignity, humor and love, is sleeping; now she too, awaits that resurrection. A multitude of her friends, along with the family, also await that splendidly incomparable day when "As the last enemy, death, is brought to nothing." (1 Cor. 15:26).

A memorial is planned for Sat., Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. It will be held at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, located at the corner of Gibby Road and Lee Street in Moses Lake.
