Lyle C. Irwin, 70

Lyle C. Irwin, 70, of Lebanon, Ore., formerly of Eureka, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in Lebanon.

He was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Eureka, the son of Harry and Cecilia (DeHon) Irwin. He was raised and attended schools in Eureka.

He married Peggy Ann Titchbourne on March 11, 1956, in Eureka. Lyle moved to Lebanon in 1956. He worked for Stanton's Slaughter House, Jerry's Market as a meat cutter, and later as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for Morse Brothers. He moved to Kingman, Ariz., in 1982, where he worked for Desert Construction until retiring in 1998. After retirement, he returned to Lebanon and had lived there since.

Lyle was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Lebanon Elks Lodge. He enjoyed camping, hiking and traveling.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Irwin, of Lebanon; a son, Tab Irwin, and his wife, Sheree, of Lebanon; a daughter, Vivian Katherine Morgan, and her husband, John, of Eureka; a brother, Tom Irwin, and his wife, Sybelle, of Fair Oaks, Calif.; a sister, Marilyn McBain, and her husband, Harold, of Canmore, Alberta; four grandchildren, Christina M. Sutherland and her husband, Ed, of Eureka, Katherine R. Morgan of San Diego, James R. Irwin and his wife, Morgan, and Lindsay A. Irwin, all of Lebanon; two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Barrett Sutherland, of Eureka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard W. Irwin, and his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
