Richard Patrick Ihnot, 51, died in Pampanga, Philippines, on Dec. 12, 2005. His service was held at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre, Tuesday, Jan. 3. Burial took place in Highland Cemetery in Havre.

Richard was born Sept. 18, 1954, to John and Phyllis (Walsh) Ihnot in Glasgow. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Monroe Public School, and Butte Junior High, Nashua High School and Glasgow High School.

He was living in Kalispell with his wife, Violy Agustin Ihnot. Together they ran Handyman and Lady, a service business. During the time he lived in Kalispell he was employed by King's Buffet, Vacationer Motel, and the Outlaw Inn where he earned a Best Employee award. At one time he operated a secondhand shop in Kalispell and an upholstery shop in Columbia Falls. Richard also worked as a fish tank operator in Alaska and at Stauffer Chemical in Butte. He was a Jack-of-all trades.

Richard was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed football so much that he would often watch multiple TV screens at one time. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people. Not only did he travel around the U.S., he also visited Canada, Alaska, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Richard had many hobbies. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, building model boats, and collecting carved wooden boxes. Also, high on his list were running the gate at the Valley County Fair horse races in Glasgow; fresh water fish tanks; a good snowball fight; and chocolate chip cookies.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Joe; his mother; a sister, Rosalia; and a brother, Jackie.

He is survived by his wife, Violy Agustine Ihnot of Kalispell; his father, John Ihnot of Glasgow; a daughter, Angie Morrow of Kalispell; two grandchildren, Breana and Tyler Morrow of Kalispell; sisters, Constance Casavan of Ventura, Calif., Patricia Ihnot of Havre, Susan and Larry Bentsen of Birmingham, England, and Rachel Ihnot of Helena; and a brother, Mike Ihnot of Kent, Wash. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.
