Bonnie Jackson, 80

Bonnie Jackson, 80, formerly of Kalispell, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, in Dripping Springs, Texas.

She was born June 6, 1925, in Huron, S.D., to George and Nellie (Tumbleson) Goldhammer. Bonnie lived most of her life in Kalispell.

She met Lloyd Thomas 'Tom' Jackson in Kalispell when she was just 16 and they were married March 7, 1942. Tom had Jackson Machine Shop on East Idaho in Kalispell until he retired in 1980. He leased the shop out in 1980 to several different businesses, including the glass shop, and then sold it in 2001 when they moved to Texas.

Bonnie had a wonderful upholstery shop for a number of years, Bonnie's Upholstery. She loved sewing and cooking. They traveled south for the winters for 15 years after Tom retired. They loved the winters in Yuma, Ariz.

They lived in Louisiana and Texas while Tom was in the military during World War II. They also lived in Portland, Ore., until around 1950, then came back to Kalispell until they moved to Dripping Springs, in 2001, to be near their daughter.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Melvin, Harlan and Bob Goldhammer; and one sister, Gladys Grout.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Tom Jackson of Dripping Springs; four children, Thomas M. Jackson and his wife, Scarlette, of Bozeman, Dixie A. Billups and her husband, Eldon, of Colville, Wash., Jackie L. Fife and her husband, Fred, of Dripping Springs, and Mary Jo Jerrow and her husband, Tom, of Hungry Horse; one brother, Bud Goldhammer of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren, Jodi Ruggles, Deanna Ross, Michael Jerrow, Randy Jackson, Tim Jackson; and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Ross, Shawn Ross, Kevin Ross and Ava Bonnie Jackson.

Graveside services for Bonnie will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Bonnie's family.
