Betty Marie Pierson, 71

Betty Marie Pierson, 71, of Kalispell, passed away peacefully March 26, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 28, 1934, in Bagley, Minn., the daughter of Ludvig and Birdie Ysen.

Betty loved crafts, gardening, coffee, cats, knitting, making shopping lists, potato dumplings, her Norwegian heritage and spending time with family and friends. Betty had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.

Betty is survived by her children; Linda and Stuart Erickson, Mike Norlander, Bruce and Kathy Norlander, Gordon Jeffery and Susie Peterson, Susan Peterson and Cathy Peterson; stepdaughter, Cindy and Brad Skramstad; grandsons, Jason and Koni Erickson, Nick and Julie Erickson, Jeffery and Ranee Peterson and Tyler Norlander; granddaughters, Heather Peterson, Andrea Norlander and Ashlee Skramstad; great-grandsons, Cameron, Hunter and Jeffery Peterson, Lincoln Erickson and Colt Erickson; great-granddaughters, McCall Erickson, Haley Erickson and Leah Banyai, brothers, Marshall Ysen and Elmer Ysen; sister-in-law, Deloris Ysen; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank and Donald; sister, Doris; grandson, David Erickson; husband, Ervin Pierson; and stepson, Jeff Pierson.

Per Betty's wishes, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread at the family cemetery in Bagley.

The family would like to thank Dr. Annie Bukacek, the caring staff at Immanuel Lutheran Home and the compassionate staff of Home Options Hospice.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Immanuel Lutheran Home, 185 Crestline Ave., Kalispell, MT 59901; Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, Suite 100, Kalispell, MT 59901; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
