Josie Dochtermann McCracken, 64, of Berthoud, Colo., died March 23, 2006, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo.

She was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Longmont, Colo., to Charles Martin Brossman and Irene Frances Eachus Brossman.

She married Chester 'Bud' McCracken on May 21, 2005, in Berthoud and moved to Berthoud from Kalispell.

She was a self-employed tile setter and spent her free time fishing, camping, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

Josie loved her children and grandchildren immensely.

She is survived by her husband, Chester McCracken, of Berthoud; two sons, Martin Derr and wife, Michelle, and Jeff Basnett and wife, Cindy, and two daughters, Jennifer Goo and husband, Les, and Robin Basnett, all of Kalispell; stepsons, Matt Becker and wife, Heather, of Twin Falls, Idaho, Mike Becker, Chester McCracken Jr., and wife, Jana, of Loveland; two stepdaughters, Robin O'Dell and husband, Dennis, and Dixie Phillips and husband, Mark, all of Berthoud; brothers, Dan Brossman and wife, Hazel, of Lander, Wyo., Aaron Brossman of Libby, Chuck Brossman and wife, Gracie, of Fort Smith, Alaska, and George Brossman and wife, Carol, of Dacono, Colo.; sisters, Irma Doss of Alaska, Emmy Brunk and husband, Steve, of Greeley, Colo., Kathy Rudd of Loveland, Mary Colwell and husband, Frank, of Lander, Wyo., and JoAnn Byrns and husband, Dean, of Spokane; numerous grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Marilyn Barker and Marty Bell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Michael; husband, David Robert Becker; and sister, Bessie Divas.

Cremation has been conducted. No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
