QUINCY — A California-based software company speaks before the City of Quincy next week about possibly moving into town.

Representatives of Mountain View, Calif. a based Intuit Incorporated have requested to be added to the city council agenda Wednesday evening.

"This relates to some property that is under consideration for purchase in the Quincy area," said Diane Carlini, senior corporate communications manager at Intuit.

The property is adjacent to the city of Quincy, she added. She did not know how much property, but said it is part of the company's overall data center development strategy.

"It's been targeted as one of our potential sites," she added.

Carlini believes Intuit's attendance at the meeting is part of the diligence process for making the site selection, but she did not know the desired outcome of the meeting.

"It's the diligence stage for the purchase of the property, but it's very early in the stages of our whole planning process," she said. A purchase has not yet been made.

"I think after the meeting, we'll have a better idea of where we are," Carlini said. "At this point, we'll have to wait and see how things progress."

Quincy City Administrator Tim Snead declined to comment. He said he could only say there is another data company looking at Quincy.
