Volleyball season comes to an end at divisionals

The Columbia Falls volleyball team wrapped up their season at the divisional tournament in Whitefish where they were ousted by Bigfork.

The Kats opened the tourney by beating Polson 25-10, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21.

They looked like they might even upset top-ranked Whitefish.

The Kats started off strong with an eight point lead beating Whitefish in their first game 25-11. Whitefish bounced back taking the match 25-22, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-11.

Monica Burns had 10 kills, Callie Spencer had six kills and six aces, and Sarah Marcille had 22 assists, seven digs, and three aces for the Kats.

Marcille served 11 aces and had 26 assists.

It was in the third game the Kats were defeated by Bigfork and eliminated from the tourney 11-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-21.

Callie Spencer had seven kills and Monica Burns had six. Sarah Marcille had 13 digs and 13 assists.

Sam Ladenburg had six aces.

Senior Callie Spencer was chosen for the all-tourney divisional team.

The team players were voted on by tournament management, coaches and officials.

The Kats ended the regular season at 4-8 in conference before heading into the tourney.

This was head coach Addy Hines first year with the team.
