Kathryn "Kats" Mary Anderson, 90, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Pack River Cemetery with Myrvin C. Rutherford officiating.

She was born Aug. 29, 1916, to John F. and Helen M. (Maggetti) Blodgett in Everett, Wash. The family moved to Spokane and Kathryn graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1934 where she developed her love of art.

In 1936, Kathryn married Harvey Rutherford and moved to California where her two children were born.

After her divorce, she moved to the Northwest where she worked in the engineering department at Hanford as a graphic artist. Following this, as the unique individual she was, she had a very eclectic work history.

In 1946 Kathryn moved to the Sandpoint area where she met Bill Anderson. The couple married on April 24, 1948, and lived in Kootenai for 58 years until her death.

Kathryn loved painting and took many classes in different media. She continued to paint into her 88th year. Her hobbies included crafts, garage sales and reading. She passed her love of art and reading to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Myrvin N. "Bill;" her son Harvey "Skip" (Betty) Rutherford of Sandpoint; her daughter Marilyn (Ron) Bruce of Rathdrum; grandchildren Myrvin, Tony, Harvey (Rutherford), Bonnie, Mollie and Sara (Bruce); 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Jack, sister-in-law Kathy and nephew Johnny.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
