Joy Phyllis Brittingham, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 31, 2007.
Joy was born Aug. 10, 1919, in New York. She married George G. Brittingham on April 16, 1939 and they raised five children.
After her husband's retirement, they traveled across the United States, residing in California, Nevada, Washington and finally Kalispell. George died Dec. 7, 1998.
For the past four years, Joy lived at Heritage House in Kalispell because of her infirmities.
Joy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Favre, who died in Kalispell on May 7, 2006.
She is survived by her children, Barbara, Patricia, Laureen and Thomas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Johnson Mortuary, with burial afterward at Soldiers and Sailors Cemetery in Columbia Falls, where Joy will be buried next to her husband.
