Helen (Decker) Roby, 87 died July 6, 2007, in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Medical Center. Her husband, a niece and nephew were in attendance. She was born in Polson to Ruth and John Decker of the Swan River community on Feb. 8, 1920, in her grandmother's house.
She attended Swan River grade school and was a high-school graduate of Bigfork High School, Class of 1938.
In the mid-'50s she moved to Michigan and was a professional medical secretary in 1973. She then moved to Marathon, Fla., and finally in the Stuart, Fla., area for 27 years.
Helen is survived by her husband, Howard Roby, of Port St. Lucie; one sister, Ileta "Joanne" Dempsey, of Kalispell; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Valentine and Dorothy Pierce; and two brothers, Don Decker and Jack Decker.
She remained a Montana girl at heart and returned often to visit.
Inurnment will be in Lone Pine Cemetery, near Bigfork, at a later date.
