OTHELLO - Sam Garza is running unopposed for another term on the Port of Othello board of commissioners.

Garza is running in the November election for Port of Othello Commissioner District No. 2.

"The goals are to continue what we have been doing for the last six years," Garza said. "We've been moving the port in a new direction to actually do something for our community. We're in the onstart of that right now, with some property we just purchased on Reynolds Road and 26th Ave. Our goal is to continue building the Othello Business Park and providing better jobs for our community."

Garza said the port is expanding to provide more services to the Othello community.

He has been with the port for six years.

"The goals I had to accomplish, I haven't fulfilled all of them yet," he said. "So we're working on that still, and that's my intent on why I'd like to run again."
