MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was airlifted to Seattle after a two-vehicle accident on Broadway Avenue in Moses Lake Monday afternoon.

Stephen R. Ricard, 21, was traveling eastbound on Broadway Avenue on a motorcycle, Moses Lake Police reported. Heidi C. Cruz, 25, allegedly pulled out of the Leprechaun Harvest Foods parking lot onto Broadway Avenue.

Cruz was driving a 2000 GMC Denali when she pulled into the eastbound lanes of traffic to access the westbound lanes, police reported.

Ricard reportedly attempted to stop to avoid the collision. He was unable to stop and collided with the driver's side of the GMC Denali, police reported. Each vehicle settled in the center turn lane.

Ricard was taken to Samaritan Hospital for his injuries. He was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is in stable condition.

Ricard suffered broken bones and internal injuries, Moses Lake Police Chief Dean Mitchell said.

Cruz and three other passengers in the GMC Denali were taken to Samaritan Hospital. All four were treated and released.

Cruz has not received a citation for the accident, Mitchell said. The accident remains under investigation.

Traffic was blocked at the accident scene for approximately three hours while police investigated, he said.
