Trojans fall at Plains Tournament

The Trojans lost to Valley Christian last Saturday in the Plains Tournament, 59-78.

Despite a 27 point game by Trojan Aaron Palmer, the Trojans were unable to bridge the gap created in the first quarter when Valley Christian led, 22-9.

In the second and third quarter, Troy outscored Valley Christian 20-17 and 16-15, but the Eagles sprinted ahead again in the fourth quarter, leading 24-14.

Shado Garrett made 10 points for the team, with Zack McDougal contributing 5.

Troy - Matt Rogers 2, Zack McDougal 5, Aaron Palmer 27, Jesse Day 4, Brian Hattrich 4, Shado Garrett 10, Calyton Kyriss 5 and Dalton Powell 2.

Morgan Parsons was the high scorer for Valley Christian with 30.
