WARDEN - The trees lining state Route 170 on the way into Warden are lit for Christmas with the help of the community.

"Together with the Warden Economic Development Council and several of the businesses in town we were able to put in the conduit in the ground and some plug-ins," said Warden Mayor Roldan Capetillo.

This enabled Christmas lights to be lit on the trees.

Turnout for the lighting ceremony last Friday featured members of the Warden Economic Development Council and city employees. Capetillo said the trees are kept bright during December to create a more spirited, seasonal, feeling.

"Hopefully that will encourage some of the citizens to do the same," he said.

Capetillo thanked everyone involved including Andi Vincent and the Warden Economic Development Council, Skone and Conners, Skone Irrigation, Wilbur-Ellis Co., Stok Rose Farms, and the city employees.
