After beating Thompson Falls last Thursday on their home court, 64-59, the Lady Trojans stayed one step ahead of Superior last Saturday in a 50-31 win, bringing their season record to 3-0.

The Lady Trojans took control early against Superior with a 12-0 lead in the first quarter.

Superior came back in the second quarter to score 14 points to Troy's 11, ending the half with Libby holding a 9 point lead.

Senior post Delsey Olds made 19 points in the game -10 in the third frame - when Troy's defense took control and only allowed Superior 6 points while scoring a whopping19.

Molly Harpole, junior point guard contributed 11 points in the game, while senior Liz Straley and freshman Cassidy Hand added 6 and 4 respectively. Junior Alicia Anderson tacked on another 4 points for Troy.

Coach Troy DeBoard contributed this play-by-play regarding last Thursday night's stunning upset against Thompson Falls last week:

Thursday night we snuck up on Thompson Falls and stole a victory on their court. We lead by as many 17 points, but just couldn't put them away, holding on to win 64-59.

Saturday night we didn't play well until the third quarter, then our press let us seal the victory 50-31.

Superior has been a tough match up for us, the team was relieved we didn't become their first win in their last couple years.

The beautiful part about this year's team is the fact everyone contributes.

Some people only look at the scorebook and think points are all that matters, they don't think about the person that made the pass to the person that scores. Nor do they understand the importance of free throws at crucial times, defense and rebounding.

Scoring is just a small part of the whole equation.

Last year we only won three games, this season we are 3-0 thus far, the team has focus and goals, and together we will continue to work hard to reach them.
