Big Bend 98, Treasure Valley 66

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend started out strong and never looked back against Treasure Valley Friday.

Derek Miller started the scoring off for the Runnin' Vikes, draining a three on Big Bend's first offensive possession and had it followed up by a layup by Justin Fried.

The Chuckars were able to pull ahead and battled for the lead through the first 10 minutes of play but despite their best efforts Big Bend continued to pressure Treasure Valley.

Mark Moss connected with Miller for a layup and followed his assist with a drive to the hoop on the next trip downcourt to make it 9-8. Moss doled out another pass, this one to Matt Brunell for another layup to extend Big Bend's edge.

Daley Landon hit a 3-ball to give the Runnin' Vikes a 14-10 lead before back-to-back turnovers by Big Bend allowed Treasure Valley to tie the game at 14.

Two Chuckar fouls, the second sending Derek Vranes to the line, gave Big Bend the edge they needed to pull away for good. Vranes went 1-for-2.

Blake Solomon earned his first bucket of the night on a drive to the hole, giving the Vikings a 3-point lead and saw that lead extended by a 3-ball from Moss.

Curtiss Moseley added four points to the board with a layup and a 2-for-2 stint at the line.

Big Bend's scoring barage continued with layups from Moss and Landon and a 3-pointer by Miller.

Landon continued to push downcourt on offense, earning three more 3-balls and two layups to end the half for Big Bend.

The Runnin' Vikes maintained their offensive pressure in the second half, outscoring the Chuckars 46-29.

Landon led the team with 23 points. Burnell added 11 points. Solomon, Miller and Moseley put up 10 points each for Big Bend.

Big Bend fell to Blue Mountain 106-101 Saturday.
