Teens attack Moses Lake police

MOSES LAKE — Four subjects were arrested Friday night after assaulting three Moses Lake police officers.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Knolls Vista Drive initially for a noise complaint, Sgt. Mike William reported.

"When they arrived, they observed a fight in progress in the back yard," he noted. "When they went to confront the combatants, (a 17-year-old Soap Lake male) ran into the house with officers chasing."

A 17-year-old Moses Lake male allegedly attacked an officer from behind while they attempted to detain the Soap Lake male, he noted.

While the 17-year-old Moses Lake male was being taken to the ground by an officer, a 16-year-old Moses Lake male allegedly assaulted the officer to free the 17-year-old.

The Soap Lake male reportedly bit an officer while being arrested, Williams said.

During the altercation, Lona D. Richard, 37, Moses Lake, allegedly assaulted an officer when the officer tried to stop her from separating the two 17-year-olds from officer custody, he noted.

Richard was arrested for assault in the third degree, furnishing to minors and resisting arrest.

The 17-year-old Moses Lake male was arrested for assault in the third degree and for being a minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

The Soap Lake male was arrested for assault in the third degree, furnishing to minors, resisting arrest and for being a minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

The 16-year-old was arrested for assault in the third degree and for resisting arrest.

The 17-year-olds were taken to Columbia Basin Hospital for alcohol poisoning treatment. The 17-year-old Moses Lake male was treated for a broken nose which he said he received prior to the police altercation, Capt. Jim Jenkins said.

Michael D. Pagh, 18, was cited for obstructing justice and for being a minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

Kevin L. Hicks, 19, was cited for being a minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

A 16-year-old female was cited for being a minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.

Two officers were bitten on the arm and hand, he said. One officer was treated for a broken hand.

The officers were treated at Samaritan Hospital.
