POST FALLS — The host Trojans, playing for the first time in 15 days, outscored the Bulldogs 18-2 in the second quarter to break open a close IEL game at The Arena.

Junior C.J. Schmidt scored 13 points, junior Kandice McArthur 11 to lead Post Falls (10-3, 3-2 IEL), which made just 12 of 28 free throws.

Freshman Christina Johnson scored 11 points to lead Sandpoint (1-11, 0-5), followed by backcourt mate Brittany Oakley with 10. Lynn DiBenedetto had a game-high 14 rebounds to help fill a void in the middle as post Alissa Tenuto missed most of the game for precautionary reasons after a head injury.

"First quarter we competed well and were focused, then had our bad quarter," said coach Jim Alsager, noting the loss of Tenuto was a big factor. "Lynn was just a terror on the boards; that was impressive."
