Teen cut with sword, hands burned

GEORGE — After assaulting his 16-year-old female companion for two hours, a George man was arrested this morning by the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Cesar Sanchez Sanchez, 23, was arrested for first degree assault-domestic violence, first degree kidnapping-domestic violence and felony harassment-domestic violence, according to Cheif Deputy John Turley.

"Sanchez allegedly hit his female juvenile companion several times with a sword causing several lacerations," Turley said. "He then took one of her hands, placed it on an electric hot plate and then stepped on her hand while the plate was on … By looking at the pictures these have got to be third degree burns to both hands."

She reportedly suffered seven to 10 lacerations from a 3 foot long Samurai-style sword, half of which were on her head, Turley said. She had defensive wounds on her hands and other body parts.

Sanchez continued to assault her for two hours before a neighbor at the Royal Duke Trailer Court called in the incident to 9-1-1, the Grant County Sheriff's Office reported.

Sanchez stated he was acting on orders from "God," Turley noted.

The 16-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Quincy Valley Hospital and later flown to Harbor View Hospital in Seattle to treat the lacerations and burns, he said.

At the time of the assault, a 2-month-old daughter the pair has in common was at a grandparents home.

Sanchez was recently released from a mental health treatment center, the office reported.
