Warren Samuel Lamoreux, 84, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Warren moved in 1929 to Stevensville, where he attended grade school and high school.

He served with the US. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

Warren married Majel Carlson on Aug. 4, 1946, in Oakland, Calif.

He attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and returned to Montana upon graduation. He was employed in mortuaries in Stevensville, Helena and Kalispell. He retired as manager of the Weatherford Funeral Home in 1983.

Warren was married to Majel for more than 60 years; she preceded him in death in August 2006. He also was preceded in death by his son, Chester.

He is survived by a son, Mark, and his fiancee, Sherry Stewart; a daughter, Janell Houston, and her husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Michelle Huff and her husband, Kenneth; granddaughter, Cynthia Thorsen and her husband, Clifford; great-granddaughter, Haley Huff; and a daughter-in-law, Gail Drew, all of Kalispell; grandson, Mark James Lamoreux, and his wife, Nicole; great-granddaughter, Sierra, of Missoula; granddaughter, Amie Stevenson and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Beth and Samantha, all of Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Warren found great joy in his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked almost everything out-of-doors: gardening, logging on his 'holdings,' hunting, camping, huckleberry picking, cuffing and splitting firewood. His wood shop was a special place with its woodstove and two coffee pots, and chocolate chip cookies for visitors.

Graveside urn burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at C.E. Conrad Cemetery, with the Revs. Huston Green and Marvin Northcutt officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United Veterans of the Flathead Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Flathead Wildlife Fund.
