MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Walleyes had an up-and-down two days prior to the Father's Day weekend.

The Walleyes destroyed Eastmont in a doubleheader last Friday, downing the visitors at Moses Lake High School 8-0 and 14-4.

In game one, Troy Stephens tossed a complete-game two-hitter, striking out three and facing just one batter over the minimum. Dylan Signorelli led the Walleyes' offense, going 2 for 4 with two runs batted in. Blaine Myers was also 2 for 4 and Drew Martin finished 3 for 4.

In game two, Martin and Signorelli combined for a super performance on the mound. Brock Lybbert drilled a three-run home run as part of a 12-run second inning. Aaron Morice was 3 for 3 with two RBIs, while Martin and Chris Jackson each went 2 for 3.

The doubleheader sweep of Eastmont came a day after Moses Lake was swept on the road at West Valley-Yakima.

West Valley took the opener 6-1 and the nightcap 11-9. Moses Lake had 17 hits in the two games to West Valley's 12, but couldn't turn the hits into enough runs, head coach Ed McNamara said. Walleyes pitchers hit or walked 11 batters in the twinbill, with 10 scoring, and Moses Lake's defense committed seven errors.

Moses Lake is 6-4 in Junior American Legion play and plays again Wednesday, hosting a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader at Larson Field against the Yakima Valley Peppers.
