Warnick, Holmquist and Hinkle to answer questions

MOSES LAKE — District 13 legislators are hosting a town meeting in Moses Lake from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Big Bend Community College in the ATEC Room Saturday.

Rep. Judy Warnick, R-Moses Lake, Sen. Janea Holmquist, R-Moses Lake and Rep. Bill Hinkle, R-Cle Elum, plan to provide an update of the 2007 legislative session. They will answer questions from citizens during the forum.

"Well, I am really looking forward to this," Warnick said. "I ran on the idea I would be a good listener."

She said it is an opportunity to address citizen concerns and expects to discuss concerns varying from agriculture, natural resources, public safety, metal theft, groundwater management, crime and punishment. She serves our various committees addressing the issues.

Holmquist said she is looking forward to face-to-face time with the citizens she serves.

Issues brought forth by citizens will be taken back to Olympia where the lawmakers can work on them, she added.

She expects to discuss issues ranging from the budget to education to metal theft.

She is providing an update on the rainy day fund, agricultural land protection and renewable fuel legislation.

A second forum will be held in Ellensburg from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hal Holmes Center located on 201 N. Ruby St.
