Richard Merwin Martell, Sr., 52, of Frenchtown, passed away at St. Patrick Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. He was born Feb. 4, 1955, in Scobey, the son of Forest and Elaine (Myhre) Martell.
He was raised and attended schools in Libby. He married Charlotte Peek on Oct. 25, 1975.
Richard enjoyed music, cars, trucks, motorcycles, racing and helping others. He'll be remembered as a character that was very funny and always able to make people laugh and smile.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a baby brother, Ronnie Martell.
His family includes his wife, Charlotte Martell, of Frenchtown; sons and their wives, Tracy Martell and wife, Korrina, Richard Jr., Shawn Martell and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Shilo Marie Martell; brothers, Alan Martell, and Lonnie Martell and his wife, Corey, and Larry Martell and wife, Shannon; sisters, Sue Graham and husband, Jeff, and Faith Volkenand and husband, Dean; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Garden City Funeral Home with a reception to follow in Garden City's community room.
