Huskies, Tigers on All-CWAC soccer rosters

COLUMBIA BASIN - Ephrata High School and Othello High School combined to earn seven selections on the Central Washington Athletic Conference's all-league girls soccer teams announced earlier this week.

Ephrata notched three second-team selections in freshman defender Kari Inch, sophomore midfielder Alex Youngberg, and senior forward Jessica McDonnell. Freshman defender Kayla Franks was an honorable mention choice.

Othello landed junior midfielders Chantall Guzman and Marisa Juarez, along with freshman forward Lindsay Garza, on the honorable mention list.

The Quincy Lady Jackrabbits didn't have any players on the three teams, but did earn the conference's Sportsmanship Award.

Coach of the Year: Glenn Weitz, Ellensburg.

CWAC cross country

Selections for the All-CWAC cross country teams were also made earlier this week.

Ephrata's Jerry White was named the league's girls Coach of the Year award, while senior Brandi Eloff won Runner of the Year status. The girls' Team Sportsmanship Award was shared by Ephrata and the Toppenish Wildcats.

Matt Nodine of Ellensburg was the boys' Runner of the Year and his head coach, Jeff Hashimoto, was the boys' Coach of the Year. The Wapato Wolves won the Team Sportsmanship Award.
