A fourth person has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 25 disturbance at a Creston home in which two men allegedly shot at responding deputies.

Cacheral Delorean, 46, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and charged with one count of obstructing justice.

Investigators allege Delorean allowed Daniel Joseph Schwindt, 40, and Brian Daniel Rendon, 36, to live on her property even though she knew they were wanted for parole violations out of Oregon.

At 1:23 a.m. Oct. 25, Amy Carrothers, 35, and another woman - not Delorean - called the Sheriff's Office from Carrothers' trailer on the 1300 block of Riverside Road to report that Schwindt and Rendon beat them up and were threatening to shoot law enforcement.

As deputies approached the home, shots were fired toward them, Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan said.

Deputies did not return fire.

After a short manhunt, both men were in police custody by 8:30 a.m. Schwindt was arrested walking near the Flathead River without incident. Rendon was arrested after approaching a vehicle and asking for a ride out of the area. The driver refused and notified investigators.

The disturbance took place in a trailer on Delorean's property. She lives in a separate house about 100 yards away and had no involvement in the incident, according to detectives.

Detectives hope Delorean can shed additional light on what happened that night. She has yet to make an official statement to investigators.

Investigators believe Schwindt and Rendon had been in Montana for about three weeks.

Carrothers also has been charged with obstructing justice for allowing Rendon, her boyfriend, to live with her in the trailer knowing he was wanted in Oregon.

Schwindt's underlying offense in Oregon was unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Rendon's was homicide.

In Flathead County, Schwindt is charged with criminal endangerment, assault on a peace officer and assault with a weapon, all felonies. Rendon is charged with felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor partner assault.
