Emma (Nehlich) Lockwood

Longtime Sandpoint resident Emma (Nehlich) Lockwood died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Wanda Lockwood, in Carmel, Calif.

Emma was born May 29, 1909, in Hosmer, S.D. When still a child, her family moved to Montana, where, on Dec.23, 1929, she married Cleo A. Lockwood. In the fall of 1936 they moved to a farm near Sandpoint where they resided until Cleo Lockwood's death Jan. 30,1990. In July of that year, Emma moved to Carmel to live with her daughter.

She is survived by three daughters, Eddie Batten and Darlene Kennedy of Spokane, Wash., and Wanda Lockwood of Carmel.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Lockwood; a daughter, Gloria Knight of Pacifica, Calif.; and a son, James Lockwood, who died in Vietnam on Sept. 17 1966.

Burial will be in Sandpoint, Idaho.
