Victims claim suspects are gang members

MOSES LAKE - Two male juveniles reportedly attempted to gain entry to an apartment on East Hill Avenue and attempted to assault the two people inside Wednesday morning.

"Two Hispanic male subjects with metal (baseball) bats and blue bandanas over their faces attempted to gain entry," Moses Lake police listed in their calls for service report. "(The) subjects damaged the front door of the apartment and attempted to assault the victims who were blocking the door."

According to police, the subjects fled in a red vehicle, which was reportedly located on Loop Drive, Moses Lake Police Department Capt. Dave Ruffin said.

Police indicated the vehicle was the same vehicle involved with a string of beer thefts in Moses Lake.

The two victims reportedly told police they believed the subjects are involved with a gang.

No one answered the door at a residence police believed belonged to at least one of the suspects, Ruffin said.

Police have two possible identities and gang-related nicknames of the juvenile suspects and photographed the vehicle believed to be involved with the incident.

It is unclear why the two subjects were attempting to gain entry to the apartment, Ruffin said.
