Betty Jane Friske, 78

Betty Jane Friske, 78, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007. Born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Columbia, S. C., she was a true southern belle. Betty married Donald G. Friske of Polson shortly after the Korean War. Betty was a faithful member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Sunday school teacher for children, young women, and adults. She also served in her community. Betty had a zest for life and a sparkle in her eyes. She was an accomplished home designer and interior decorator. Betty was an amazing cook. Her grandchildren especially loved her buttermilk pancakes. She had a knack for turning any gathering into a festive occasion and often hosted holiday celebrations. Her family and friends will miss her wise, empathetic counsel.

Her parents, brother, sister, and a granddaughter preceded Betty in death. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters, Lynne Thompson of Orem, Utah, Gaye Bailey of Salt Lake City, and Marla Friske of Kalispell; her son, Tom Friske of Buda, Texas; 30 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Fourth Avenue East in Polson. A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. in the Relief Society Room of the church. Interment will be after services at Lakeview Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Dialysis Patient Fund, 135 Commons Way, Kalispell, MT, 59901. Arrangements were made under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be made at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
