Sponsors, families may dine together at annual event

MOSES LAKE - Farmers from all over the area get a breakfast Saturday morning, courtesy of the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber holds the 27th annual Farm Family Brunch at the Golden Corral Restaurant, located at 930 N. Stratford Road, beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting through 10 a.m.

Chamber Executive Assistant Lynn Alwine said a total of about 240 farmers are anticipated at the brunch.

"It's an appreciation for our farmers, the agriculture community," Alwine said.

"It gives the business community a chance to thank our farmers (for their) support, because they do support the businesses in town," chamber Executive Director Bev Shuford added.

Alwine noted the farmers can hail from outside the Moses Lake area, including Royal City, Ephrata, Warden, Othello, Ritzville and Ellensburg.

"Sometimes other farmers will give us the names of other farmers," she said. "They shop or do business in Moses Lake."

Santa Claus will be available for pictures with children at the event Saturday.

The chamber has 15 volunteers working the event.

"We do all of the busing tables, serving coffee, juice," Shuford explained.

The event also offers the brunch's 28 sponsors a chance to attend, participate and eat with their farmer customers. The sponsors are in addition to the 240 total, Shuford and Alwine said.

For more information, contact the chamber at 509-765-7888.
