Lola A. Ackerman, 83, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Pioneer Memorial Gardens with Pastor Floyd Wilks officiating. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Lola was born May 7, 1924, in Tomah, Wis., to the late Erwin and Olive (Rose) Root. She married Harvey Charles Ackerman on July 3, 1953, in Belvidere, Ill. They made their home in Ringwood, Ill., until 1954 when they moved to Monroe, Wash. One year later they moved to Bellevue, Wash., and in 1957 they moved to Moses Lake where they started the Bar 40 Ranch. Harvey passed away January 24, 1997.

Survivors include a son, Corey Ackerman of LaGrande, Ore.; two daughters, Sheri Miner of Moses Lake and Stacey and Bryan Brittain of Kennewick; eight grandchildren, Lindsey and Loran Ackerman, Tara, Satin and Brandon Miner and Lisa, Jeff and Josh Brittain; and a great-granddaughter, Madelin Miner.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kim.
