ENTIAT - Almira/Coulee Hartline head coach Brandon Walsh wasn't terribly pleased with his team after last week's performance, despite a 32-point victory over Wilbur-Creston.

The Warriors didn't win by 32 points this week, but a 54-28 demolition of a much tougher opponent in the Entiat Tigers had Walsh singing his players praises.

"We played good football on Friday night," Walsh said via e-mail. "I was especially happy with how we played on team defense. Guys were flying to the football from all over the field."

ACH dominated the first three quarters, and only a 20-point fourth from the Tigers put a sense of respectability on the final score. The Warriors had a 42-0 lead behind an offense that rolled up 439 total yards.

"I thought that our offensive execution was much improved from the previous week," Walsh said. "The offensive line played well and it showed in our total output."

Warrior quarterback Josh Goodwin completed only four of 10 throws, but two of those completions set the tone for ACH's evening. Goodwin hooked up with Kyle Tucker for a 30-yard touchdown that opened the scoring, then found Nate West on a 45-yard score to give ACH a 14-0 lead after one period.

The Warriors built their halftime lead to 28-0 as West scored on a 7-yard run and Goodwin bolted in from 23 yards out. Another 23-yard TD scamper from Goodwin made it 34-0 in the third quarter and all but sealed the victory.

Goodwin finished with 12 carries for 147 yards and three rushing TDs, while adding 107 yards through the air and two more scores. Cody Leander carried 15 times for 142 yards. West had nine carries for 50 yards and caught two balls for 75 yards.

Reid Ashley led a stalwart ACH defense with 10 tackles and two sacks. West and Goodwin had seven tackles apiece.

ACH (2-0) returns home this Friday to take on Cusick. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
