Lind-Ritzville spikes Davenport to open Northeast 2B season

Pateros 3, Wilson Creek 0 -- Selah 3, Quincy 0 -- River View 3, Royal 0

RITZVILLE - Laura Cain had 10 kills and an ace, leading the Lind-Ritzville Broncos to a four-game victory over the visiting Davenport Gorillas on Tuesday night in the Northeast 2B volleyball opener.

The Lady Broncos were victorious by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-23 and 28-26. Heather Hunt had 26 assists and an ace for L-R, while Danielle Sackmann picked up 24 digs and Stephanie Steinberger had seven blocks. Devon Killian and Katlin Fowles also had aces for the Broncos.

Davenport's Mariah Mielke had 31 assists and three aces in defeat. Miranda Moses had nine digs and three aces, Shae Parker had 11 kills and Kenzie Gruber had a pair of blocks.

L-R plays again Thursday at 7 p.m., traveling to Spokane for a league match with the Valley Christian Panthers.

Pateros 3, Wilson Creek 0

WILSON CREEK - The visiting Nannies pulled out a 25-16, 25-18, 28-26 victory over the Devils in North Central 1B action.

Jackie Treat had a team-high five kills and was 12 of 13 serving for Wilson Creek. Kelsey Campbell also had a solid serving effort, going 14 of 14 with four aces.

Wilson Creek plays again Thursday, hosting Almira/Coulee-Hartline at 5:30 p.m.

Selah 3, Quincy 0

QUINCY - The defending 2A state champion Vikings stormed into Quincy and left with a 25-10, 25-14, 25-8 victory over the winless Jackrabbits.

Rachel Tobin had four kills for Quincy, which dropped to 0-5 overall, 0-4 in Central Washington Athletic Conference play. Becca Boen added two kills, while Manda Brindle served 9 for 9, was 51 for 51 setting, and dished out nine assists.

Quincy travels to Othello on Thursday for a 7 p.m. league match.

River View 3, Royal 0

KENNEWICK - The Knights got off to a sluggish start and fell in three games to the Panthers in a South Central Athletic Conference matchup.

River View won the first game easily, 25-11, then held off Royal in the final two games, 25-19, 25-17. Becky Flores buried 17 kills and had eight blocks for the Panthers. Teammates Lisa Carlyle (25 assists, seven digs) and Chani Brisby (nine kills, 13 digs) were also key contributors.

For Royal, Stephanie Bartlett recorded a team-high six kills along with seven digs. Alyssa Christensen had 15 digs.

Royal hosts Warden in a SCAC match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
